The chair is an experiment in materiality, which is moving back and forth from manual work to digital work, between 2D and 3D.
The first chair was made by attaching soft plush toys to an existing IKEA chair. The chair was documented with photographs, modeled in 3D using photogrammetry, and then drawn in 2D from there.
The second chair was produced using CNC milling, flatbed printing, and other fabrication techniques based on the drawings and data from the first chair. We experimented and designed the process of extracting and re-creating the plush toy material through a technological process.
